In this age of industrial growth based on economic expediency, the craft artist is now less prevalent than when our founders established this great country. Appreciation for home and hearth is replaced by fast food and manufactured goods without the individual care and attention that once was given to cherished handmade goods found in the home.
This award is given to American craft artists and artisans who create their own work by hand. No imports or manufactured goods are eligible for this award.
